Opportunities for 2011-12 Residency Programs
in Cooperation with the Gold Canyon Arts Council
1. Robert Faust – Faustwork Mask Theater
Monday, November 21 – Mr. Faust is available to do a mask workshop for drama students and a general performance open to all district students on the same day as long as both are held at the same venue and both occur in the AM or both in the PM. (If this opportunity is not taken by AJUSD, this residency will be offered to another regional school.)
Friday, November 18 - Mr. Faust will present his public performance at the Gold Canyon United Methodist Church at 7:30 PM. Teachers and students are invited to attend this unique, humorous production.
2. Tucson Boys Choir
Sunday, December 18, 3:00 PM - This is a public performance only and no residencies are scheduled. Students and teachers are invited to attend – especially choral students – to hear and see a first-rate young people’s group with a Western flair.
3. Jeffrey Siegel – Pianist
Friday, January 20 – 10:00 AM bus-in performance at the Gold Canyon United Methodist Church. Students from any regional school or home school students are welcome to attend. This would be a great experience for students studying piano or any other musical instruments. Not recommended for primary students. Piano teachers are encouraged to bring students.
Friday, January 20 – 7:30 PM – Siegel’s public performance at the Gold Canyon United Methodist Church. This will be a Keyboard Conversations presentation in which Siegel speaks with the audience about the music and its performance on the piano. Everyone will enjoy the general audience orientation of this concert. Watch his You Tube clip and you’ll see why.
